1. My celebration for this week was that I feel like I actually accomplished some good work and there were no complications. This was the first week that my editor (Alexis) started working for me and from the beginning she worked really hard to make sure that everything got done in a timely manner. One day she even stayed after school to finish some things. It isn't that my previous employees haven't worked hard, they absolutely have, it's just that there seems to always end up being some kind of roadblock or setback that is frustrating. This week there was none. I hope that this positivity continues throughout the end of the project.
2. During this project I think that I have experienced the most cognitive dissonance regarding how I expected this project to be structured and how it actually is. I expected for there to be specific guidelines and rules set before the project even started but I feel as though there it's more left up to us and very open-ended. That was frustrating for me because I do a lot better with direct instruction than I do when it's left up to me. I think that if it had been made clearer at the start of the project that a lot of things were going to be left up to us, I would have been able to better prepare myself and it turn wouldn't have gotten so frustrated. Ultimately though, I have and will continue to push my uncomfort and make sure that it does not stop me from producing a quality product.
3. I guess throughout the course of the week my opinion on hashtag activism became a more positive one. I never really had thought about it much before but my initial thought was that it wasn't really anything major and that a hashtag couldn't do much. But, after reading the article that talked about all the movements that have started with hashtags and gotten people to share their stories and break down stigmas, my opinion changed. I realized that in a society that's so technology based there will be a lot more people willing to connect and share over the internet. And I think that that can be very powerful.
