1. This week in the project has been very difficult for me. As a producer I came up with a plan for everything I needed to get done and a schedule for when I would accomplish. I had really hoped to stick to that schedule pretty closely (mainly for my own mental sanity). But this week, because of some of my peers, I have become 3 days behind schedule. I had planned to start filming on Tuesday but every time I tried, the camera was dead. One day I had reserved it for the afternoon and the group before me was still out using it. It was honestly very irritating and made it a struggle to get through this week. After discussing my frustrations to Dr. Don, he talked to the groups responsible for the dead camera and added a fee for those who return it without charge. While this doesn't make up for the time I have already lost, hopefully it'll help prevent me from getting anymore behind schedule.
2. When working in a distracting environment, the easiest way for me to focus is to listen to music. Music is what calms me down after a stressful day but it also helps me tune out any outside noise. Many people say that listening to music with words will distract you from being productive but I find that for me it's the opposite. If I were to listen to music without words I would be even more distracted and my mind would start to wander.
3. In my opinion, words are our most powerful tool as human beings. Words have the power to make us feel a range of emotions. From extreme joy to devastating sadness and everything in between. Some people don't realize how much power what they say has but I think those who are in power definitely do. They use their words to make us believe what they want us to believe. Whether it's using their words to make us feel happy and support what they're saying or making us feel sad or angry to turn us against someone else. Which in turn makes you support them. They can sell a product by connecting it to something we love or distract us from things that are important by just bringing up something we think is funny or amusing. There is so much power in words and we are affected by them everyday, sometimes without even realizing.
